Apologies for the lack of blogging on this centenary trip (there is a lot of material coming your way soon…).
We are on our way to the airport as I type and glad to be coming home. I have to confess that this week, I have written and rewritten this blog four times and deleted it.
You may have seen in the music press that at the weekend, Kieron Moore, our much loved Principal Oboe, passed away. He has left a chasm both personally and professionally at the heart of the orchestra. This has been a very difficult week.
There will be a full tribute in the near future [see this page on the LSO website for a short tribute], but for once, I don’t possess the words. Our thoughts are with his wife Nicky and his family

Hi Gareth
Mum and I were so very sorry to hear of Kieron’s passing and how you must be feeling. We appreciate that you were both very close and that you have lived for years with his illness. Our love and best wishes to his family.
